Axel Brakhage elected as senator at Leopoldina

Twelve years after his admission to the German National Academy of Sciences Leopoldina, Prof. Axel Brakhage has been elected to the senate of the Academy. As chairman and senator of Section 13 - Microbiology and Immunology, he will represent the interests of the members of this section before the Presidium. His term of office begins on March 4 and will last four years.

"It is a great honour to have been elected as senator of the section Microbiology and Immunology at the Leopoldina. It will be of utmost importance to me to inform the public debate on the discipline I represent with scientific certainties," Brakhage stated shortly after being elected.
